SINCOCK Lawrence Robert MBE, Regt No F920696, WO RNZA, passed away peacefully on 28 November 2012, at Hamilton. aged 80 years.
Three active members, Graeme Henderson, Spencer Morrisson and James Horn and wives, (Joan, Rona and Aileen), met and enjoyed drinks and dinner at 228 Spey St Invercargill.
The Queen and the Regiment were duly toasted.

Dedication Service and unveiling of a memorial to commemorate those who had served in the Armed Forces was held at Whenua Tapu Cemetery on Armistice Day this year. There were about 150 personnel in pouring rain attended, with veterans from Porirua, Titahi Bay, Pukerua Bay, Johnsonville and Tawa
Harry Honnor has not been enjoying good health of late and following a spell in Whangarei Base Hospital is now back in the hospital wing of the Jane Mander Retirement Village in Whangarei. [More as it comes to hand.]
Up to 30 Korean War veterans will be funded to attend the 60th anniversary commemorations of the Korean War Armistice in July next year, Veterans Affairs Minister Nathan Guy has announced on 23 November 2012.
Retired Brigadier and linguist Ernie Chamberlain served for 36 years in the Australian Army, including on exchange with NZ Force SEA in Singapore 1975‐77 as SO2 Intelligence. He has written The Viet Cong D445 Battalion: Their Story, published privately in 2011, and available to read free on-line.

During the period 16‐19 August 2012 I was privileged to attend the unveiling of the original Long Tan Cross at the Australian War Memorial Museum in Canberra. In 1968 prior to 6 RARs second tour to Vietnam, a plan was put in place to erect a cross at the site of the Long Tan battle.
Our annual reunion, 9-11 November 2012, was a great occasion, enjoyed by all. Read on for the highlights of the weekend . . .

The NZ Army Hut at Omori, Lake Taupo
I have had a request for any information, including photos of the NZ Army hut that was located at Omori (Southern end of Lake Taupo), which was mainly used by soldiers who were keen fishermen.
MCADAM, Francis Hardy. WWII NZ Army 49280 17th and 6th Field Regt. NZ Artillery. Passed away peacefully on 1 November 2012 at Redwood Hospital; in his 93rd year.

Greg Thwaite has called in a few favours and used a few contacts to achieve something of a coup (not seriously!). Prince Charles and Camilla will be attending our remembrance service on Sunday morning at the Auckland Museum and Greg is trying to establish the likelihood of a group photo of RNZA Assn members with HRH after the service.
