The Assoc has been asked to see if anyone in our circle of contacts can assist in finding a WW2 artillery gun for Palmerston North city council’s proposed upgrade of the city’s Memorial Park, which will have a WW2 theme. The plans call for two guns, and they may be getting one 25 pounder via the NZDF, but would like a second WW2 era gun as well.
Palmerston North Mayor Grant Smith’s father was an RNZA gunner and the Mayor has a close relationship with 16 Fld Regt.
