
Colonel Commandant, Royal Regiment of New Zealand Artillery
Last week the role of Colonel Commandant, Royal Regiment of New Zealand Artillery was formally handed over from Brigadier (Rtd) Paul Southwell to Major General (Rtd) Warren Whiting on St Barbara’s Day.
The Royal New Zealand Artillery Association (RNZAA) extends its sincere appreciation to Brig Southwell for his service and leadership throughout his tenure as Colonel Commandant. Brig Southwell’s commitment to the wider Regiment and his close collaboration with the RNZAA have strengthened the bonds between serving and former Gunners. Brig Southwell’s efforts leave a lasting mark, and he carries the respect and gratitude of the RNZAA as he moves on to other endeavours.
The RNZAA would also like to warmly welcome Maj Gen Whiting to his new role as Colonel Commandant. The RNZAA looks forward to working with Maj Gen Whiting to continue fostering the strong connection between the serving Regiment and the RNZA veteran community, and advancing the proud traditions of New Zealand Gunners.
