Yesterday, I represented the Hamilton RSA at the funeral of Michael Terence MOORE who served in the British Army during WWII – 1837097 Sgt 23rd RATR and in the New Zealand Army  36157 Sgt 4th Mdm Regt RNZA.  93 year-old Mike redeployed to the gun-line above on 1st April 2012.
After I had delivered The Ode and those there had laid their Poppies on his coffin, his mates raised tots of Guinness to his memory – “What a way to go, once a Gunner, always a Gunner.”
