New memorials here in Katikati’s War Memorial Square

A good turnout of local gunners and RSA members for the unveiling of two impressive new memorials here in Katikati’s War Memorial Square today.
The first is a very large (10 Tonne) and imposing memorial stone that features Mike Subritzky’s poem “Spirit of Anzac”, which was unveiled by Subs, who was born in Katikati. The other memorial is a life sized mural of a WW1 Kiwi soldier painted by local artist Steve Graveson, and commissioned by the Katikati RSA.
